Dr. Theroux's MBSR class was terrific! She is an inspiring and knowledgeable teacher. What I learned from her actually changed my life and influenced the way I practice Psychotherapy! |

Dr. Theroux's MBSR program was life enhancing. I am more relaxed, focused, and centered. I am finding it easier to accept chronic pain. |

My motivation for taking the MBSR course was so that I could be in a position to teach it. I know so many people who could benefit from it, and it breaks my heart to see them suffer or on prescriptions that keep them artificially level. I eventually accomplished my goal when I started the class with Dr. Theroux 2 years ago. I found the space between my observations and my reactions, and I've opened up an entirely new side of myself. Thanks again. I really admire what you're doing for people. |

I hope to incorporate mindfulness for the rest of my life. My 2 young children ages 6 and 9 both said and I quote, 'You are more calm since you started your meditation classes.' I cannot think of a better review! |

I am a scientist, athlete, and businessman whose active life was suddenly and permanently disrupted by chronic pain. In my search for sane alternatives to opioids, the universe led me to The South Florida Center for Mindfulness. I am so grateful to Dr. Theroux, Piero and Kristen for teaching me “real” mindfulness and for being so profoundly kind. Opioids and the pain had almost ruined my life. In my search for evidence-based solutions, I found solid, peer-reviewed scientific research demonstrating that Mindful Meditation can be more effective than opioids in managing chronic pain! There are, unfortunately, many flavors of mindfulness teaching, some more scientific and some more shamelessly commercial than others. I recommend going with evidence-based methodology that works. The brand of science-based mindfulness taught at the Center is the real deal, developed and tested at the University of Massachusetts Medical School where Dr. Theroux was trained by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, the pioneer of evidence-based mindfulness. After completing the wonderful MBSR course with my wife, we wholeheartedly recommend The South Florida Center for Mindfulness. Not only did we actually enjoy the meditation, learning, and fellowship, but we found that the methodology helped us with stress and pain. We received Invaluable life lessons and they have given us the tools to “rewire” our brains so that we respond mindful ways to reduce daily pain, stress, and craving. Perhaps the best part of the experience is becoming part of a like-minded community of aspiring and “awake” people. Dr. Theroux is one of the most interesting and engaged instructors that I have ever met. If you want to relieve stress, are open to meditation, or want to live a more peaceful inner life… then this Center, these professionals, and these courses are for you.
